Adam Niemerg

Dieterich, IL

Adam Niemerg is a state representative for Illinois, serving since January 2021. He was born and raised in Teutopolis and resides in rural Dieterich with his wife, Trina, and two children. After completing his Associate’s degree at Lake Land College, Adam continued his education at Eastern Illinois University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in History. He then worked for 12 years as a property claims specialist with Country Financial Insurance Company before running for state representative. With Country Insurance, he managed employees and oversaw budget and site planning.

Adam ran on a platform of parental rights, a belief in the right to life for unborn children and strong support for the Second Amendment. He is an advocate of fiscal conservatism and limited government. He currently represents all or portions of 11 counties in Illinois, including, Champaign, Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Lawrence, Jasper, and Vermillion Counties.

Adam has actively fought to reduce lockdowns and to remove masking in schools and vaccine mandates. In addition, he successfully negotiated the removal of masks from the Illinois House floor and has been vocal in pushing back against far left ideology that has taken hold of many of our institutions.

Adam serves on several committees, including the Illinois House Appropriations General Services, Consumer Protection, Elementary and Secondary Education School Curriculum and Policy, Insurance, Restorative Justice, and Labor & Commerce Committees.

As a St. Isidore Catholic Parish member, Adam prioritizes his community and values traditional family and religious principles.
