Cheraya Peña is the owner-operator of Spotlight Communication Strategies, LLC, a company that provides strategy, marketing, and crisis communication services to clients within the education policy, governmental affairs, and private investment sectors. Most recently Cheraya served as the full-time director for the Best Place for Kids™ and the Best Place for Working Parents™ initiatives, unique public-private partnerships designed to increase family and childhood outcomes through business- and family-friendly workplace policies. Prior to forming Spotlight, she served as press secretary for the Fort Worth Mayor and Council. Cheraya is a TCU grad with a B.S. in Communication Studies with an international emphasis and holds professional certificates from FEMA and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for crisis communications. Cheraya and her husband, Gustavo, live in Fort Worth with their two young children where she is active in the local community in a variety of volunteer and leadership roles.
