I serve as General Counsel on the executive leadership team of Empower Clinic Service., which operates the  nation’s largest compounding pharmacy and outsourcing facilities, based in Houston, TX and East Windsor, NJ. Prior to going in-house for Empower two years ago, I served for over four years as outside counsel at an intellectual property firm for Empower and variety of technology firms, where I litigated cases on the litigation team and advised on transactional and R&D matters, including on patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights. At Empower, I lead four departments: Legal, Government Affairs, Regulatory Affairs/Compliance, Government Affairs, and Enterprise Risk. As the head of Government Affairs, I work on federal issues as well as manage a 50-state portfolio; this involves leading internal government relations and public policy team members.

Prior to private practice, I served in the United States Coast Guard as a JAG for 10 years (5 years active duty and 5 years reserve duty), where I worked on national security, international law, and intelligence projects. I attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Before law and military service, I was a R&D organic chemist in the oil & gas industry and owned/operated a private tutoring company.
