Rachel Hazelip

Rachel Hazelip joined the Idaho Freedom Foundation in January 2025 as a policy analyst and legislative liaison, and now serves as Policy Director. She brings with her several years of experience in policy analysis, research, and writing as well as expertise in Chinese foreign policy/grand strategy and Marxism.
She holds undergraduate degrees in criminal justice, political science, history, and international studies; a master’s degree in public policy: international affairs, and is currently a doctoral candidate at Liberty University. She served in the IDGOP as the Canyon County Republican Youth Committeewoman from 2022 to 2024 and as the Canyon County District 10 co-captain for the 2024 presidential caucus.
Rachel enjoys mountaineering, traveling, surfing, ballroom dancing, and reading. She was raised in Idaho and is a born-again Christian, researcher, former legislative candidate, proud American, and liberty-lover.
