Steven Utroska

Brandon, Mississippi

Steven is a former Professional Engineer and small business owner that left the private consulting world to pursue his passion of making Mississippi the best place to live, work, and raise a family through policy reform. As a former small business owner, Steven is an advocate for business development and economic growth in Mississippi. Steven started a Hattiesburg area based small business centered organization, Liberty Pinebelt, in 2018 supporting economic freedom in the Pinebelt region of Mississippi, in order to get business leaders, employees, and citizens of the Pinebelt to come together as one strong voice against burdening taxes and regulations that hindered economic growth. The organization saw incremental growth prior to Steven leaving the Hattiesburg area to accept the position as State Director for Americans for Prosperity – Mississippi in 2020. Prior to working full time with Americans for Prosperity, Steven was also on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Center for Public Policy, Mississippi’s only state-based conservative think-tank.

Steven believes that the problem in today’s society is that we’ve always been taught to NOT talk about hard topics like religion and politics, but instead we should have been taught HOW to talk about those hard topics. Steven is a Liberty-Minded Conservative that is dedicated to talking about the hard topics so that we may protect our rights as free citizens and allow for economic growth through private enterprise. He is passionate about protecting the individual rights and economic freedom of all people. Steven is a 4th generation Mississippian raising two children, Asher and Adeline, along with his wife April.
