CFGF President David McIntosh Issues Statement on U.S. Appeals Court Temporarily Halting SEC Climate Disclosure Rule

Washington, D.C. – Club for Growth Foundation President David McIntosh has issued the following statement on the Fifth Circuit Appeals Court’s decision to halt new rules issued by the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) requiring public companies to disclose climate related risks:

“Since day one of his presidency, and despite countless defeats in court, Joe Biden has filled his federal agencies with woke activists who have prioritized their radical agenda over executing the intended role of their office.” said Club for Growth Foundation President David McIntosh. “The SEC’s climate disclosure rule is just the latest example of this extreme expansion of the federal bureaucracy. The 5th Circuit Court’s decision to grant a request for an administrative stay on the climate disclosure rule confirms what we already knew: if the SEC choses to proceed with the proposed climate disclosure rule, the SEC must explain how the rule is permissible under the West Virginia v. EPA decision.”
