Club for Growth Foundation Releases 2023 Wyoming State Economic Scorecard

Washington, D.C. – Club for Growth Foundation has published its 2023 State Economic Scorecard for Wyoming, highlighting the voting records of each state legislator in the Cowboy State on key economic policies.

The mission of the Club for Growth Foundation is to educate the public on the advantages free-market principles and limited government offer. At both the federal and state levels, the legislative process is commonly overrun by political jargon and backroom deals, preventing the general public from having a sound understanding of the bills that have a direct impact on their lives. Through its scorecard series, the Club for Growth Foundation makes this information widely available and provides Wyomingites, and Americans across the country, with a detailed breakdown into how legislators vote on economic policy.

The Foundation conducted a thorough examination of each lawmaker’s record on votes related to pro-growth policies and calculated an Economic Growth Score on a scale of 0 to 100. A score of 100 indicates the highest support for pro-growth policies. This year, the Club for Growth Foundation evaluated over 800 floor votes and, in the end, included 18 Wyoming House votes and 16 Wyoming Senate votes. These votes included support for legislation that institutes important electoral safeguards for hard-working Wyomingites, as well as opposition to supplemental COVID spending that allocated federal tax dollars from the “American Rescue Plan” to various entities.

“Through its state level economic scorecard, the Club for Growth Foundation provides the people of Wyoming, and Americans across the country, a firsthand look into where their representatives stand on economic issues,” said Club for Growth Foundation President David McIntosh. “The Foundation’s central goal is to educate the public on the virtues of free markets and limited government. By offering a transparent look into these issues, Wyomingites will know how their legislators voted on significant economic liberty and fiscal responsibility policy issues.”

Club for Growth Foundation plans to release similar scorecards for state legislatures across the country.
