Washington, D.C. – The Club for Growth Foundation has announced that former United States Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) has joined its Board of Directors. Sen. Toomey previously served as the President of the Club for Growth from 2005 – 2009.
“Senator Pat Toomey’s career in both politics and public service has been defined by his unwavering commitment to free markets and individual liberties for Americans across the country. He is a leading advocate for limited government policy solutions and has consistently championed fiscal responsibility in an era where our representatives on both sides of the aisle are addicted to spending,” said Club for Growth Foundation Chairman Steve Stephens.
“We are honored to have Sen. Toomey join the Club for Growth Foundation’s Board of Directors, and we are excited to get to work as we expand our efforts to educate the public on the benefits of pro-growth economic conservatism,” said Club for Growth Foundation President David McIntosh.
“Since my early days in politics, my guiding principles have been centered around a limited, pro-growth, and fiscally responsible approach to our Federal Government – and there is no organization better equipped to educate the public on the importance of these issues than the Club for Growth Foundation,” said Senator Pat Toomey. “As more and more people seem to be abandoning the values that define what it means to truly be a conservative, educating the public on these wisdoms has never been more important. I could not be more excited to join the Foundation’s Board and offer my insights as we continue the work to preserve the standards that have allowed America to thrive for generations.”
During his time in the United States Senate, Sen. Toomey was the Ranking Member of the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; a Member of the Senate Committee on Budget; and a member of the Committee on Finance where he served on the Health Care, International Trade, Customs, and Global Competitiveness, Taxation, and IRS Oversight Subcommittees. Prior to his time in the Senate, Toomey Represented Pennsylvania’s 15th Congressional District from 1999 – 2004.
